Robert Walter's 20th Congress Book 500th Show

San Diego's Robert Walter's 20th Congress have booked their 500th show at Club
Creation in Park City, Utah, on January 24th, 2002. That show comes towards the
end of a month-long tour of the Mountain and Pacific time zones in support of
their October release, There Goes the Neighborhood, on Premonition Records.
On this, their second album, Walter's funk/jazz-influenced piano and Hammond
organ are joined by a backing band well-versed in soul and R&B: Harvey Mason on
drums, Phil Upchurch (Curtis Mayfield, Jimmy Smith) on guitar, Red Holloway on
tenor sax, Chuck Rainey (Aretha Franklin, King Curtis) on electric bass, and
Chuck Prada on percussion. If you're nostalgic for that funky, groovy kind of
jazz, this is where it's at.
