Dianogah Expand Sound with Tortoise Frontman

Catherine Lewis reports:
The Chicago-based experimental trio Dianogah is about to head over to Europe for a springtime tour. They've recently completed their third full-length album, Millions of Brazilians, which will be released in April on Southern. The album was recorded with Tortoise/Sea and Cake maestro John McEntire at his Soma Studio in Chicago. Forgoing the band's strict two-basses and drums setup, the new effort promises a "richer, fuller and larger" sound augmented by piano, synth, Hammond organ, bass clarinet and even (gasp!) electric guitar!! Rachel Grimes (of Rachel's), John Upchurch (Coctails) and, of course, McEntire himself are among the guests. Tracklist:

01 Wrapping the Lamb Sir
02 Maria Which Has Had
03 The Smallest Chilean
04 American Dipper
05 Fiat Panda
06 Olaf
07 Pinata Oblongata
08 Alice
09 Pitifina
10 Sky Came Down

Dianogah will be playing two shows at colleges here in the States before crossing the Atlantic for a three-week tour which will conclude at the Shellac-curated UK edition of the All Tomorrow's Parties festival.
